3rd Rail 3D Retail Store in San Francisco
3rd Rail's retail location will provide customers with an immersive 3D printing experience unlike any store in San Francisco.
- Customers will see a large assortment of 3D printers from a variety of manufacturers producing objects of art, jewelry, house wares, auto parts, and office items to name just a few.
- Visitors can attend live demonstrations and workshops and buy cool gifts for friends and family.
- Customers will be able to purchase 3D printers and supplies in-store or have them shipped.
- Special manufacturer-direct discounts will be available to students attending colleges and universities in the US.
- Free Wi-Fi will also be available along with good coffee priced at small mark-ups to cover costs.
- The store will have a community area with wide screen monitors so customers may view tutorials and share ideas to drive entrepreneurship and innovation in 3D printing.
- Event schedules will be available both online and onsite so our 3D audience can attend and innovate.

3rd Rail will provide the most advanced 3D printing technology for production and assembly on the market. Stratasys and Makerbot will provide high and low-end 3D printers for low volume additive manufacturing and production.
- Production quotes will be provided within 90 minutes of RFP with a minimum order of 50 units and shipping within 24 to 48 hours with premium pricing for orders requiring rush status
- Tray sizes from 5"x 5"x 5" up to 36"x 24"x 36" available in FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) in many materials and filaments including ABS and PLA and DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering) in 5 different metals including aluminum and titanium
- Customer reward scheduling available based on production run
- Assembled products with up to 40 pieces will require a minimum production run of at least 50 units with shipping times of premium-priced 2 day, 1 week and 2 week turns
- A variety of printing materials including ABS, PLA, and metals
- 24 hour technical support
- Customers can either drop-in to pick up or ship FedEx

Prototype Your Latest Ideas
Incubator & Prototyping @ 3rd Rail 3D Retail Oakland, CA
Our prototyping and product incubation capabilities allow entrepreneurs and innovators to get their designs and ideas to market fast!
This space will be especially laid-out so customers can either get together in groups and/or seek the advice of our online/onsite experts to help design and build products. There will be community areas and shared-spaces complete with over-stuffed chairs and sofas with work tables so that 3rd Rail'ers will be comfortable for long hours collaborating and innovating. There will be free Wi-Fi and high speed internet with coffee & snack bar along video conferencing facilities available at a nominal charge. There will be a lounge area for taking breaks and playing games like ping-pong, video and board games.
Additionally, 3rd Rail will assist its customers in the following fashion.
- 3rd Rail will provide demos, checklists, and tutorials to assist and ensure that entrepreneurs' designs are ready for 3D printing
- Experts online and onsite will also be available to assist with 3D scanning and CAD software to support innovation so that creations can be realized and perfectly produced
- Subscribers who've been certified by 3rd Rail will be permitted to access and operate our 3D equipment
- File uploads to 3rd Rail will also be available so that designs can be printed by 3rd Rail immediately and shipped to customers within 24 hours
- This will include on-the-spot pricing
- A variety of printing materials including ABS, PLA, and metals
- 24 hour technical support
- Customer file uploads can be purchased at 3rd Rail's online marketplace
- Customer feedback, rating, and chat provision will be available for all products and services helping drive the 3rd Rail experience
